HEBDEN WINE CLUB #4 /AN EVENING OF ITALIAN FOOD & WINE

OUR THIRD WINE EVENT & FOURTH HEBDEN WINE CLUB EVENT WEDNESDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER / CELEBRATING NATURAL WINE & ITALIAN FOOD WITH LEEDS BASED WINE IMPORTER WAYWARD WINES

For our next instalment of Hebden Wine Club we will be teaming up with our friends from Wayward Wines to showcase a collection of their Italian imports, each paired with a dish that reflects our ongoing commitment to purveying high quality produce.

Wayward are interested in wine from growers who are in tune with the land on which they work, employing organic or biodynamic practices to produce low yields of healthy fruit from unique vineyard parcels. We first encountered them a few years ago when Chloe was working at The Moorcock, through Steve (Wayward), primarily as a guest (he was always a joy to serve) and later as a supplier. Following this we have stayed in touch, catching up at several trade tastings and always hoping to team up as a Northern Natural Wine Powerhouse and include their imports in our line up. Recently we had the pleasure of having a one on one tasting and finally had the scope to include some of Wayward’s wines on our own wine list.

For this event, we will be joined by Bess from Wayward who will be on hand to impart some in depth knowledge on each of the wines and we’re super excited to have her as part of the team for the evening! We haven’t had the pleasure of working alongside her yet but our friend Amber, who some of you may remember from our opening team, credits her for teaching her a good chunk of what she knows, and we think that’s one of the most glowing reviews one can receive! (if you’re reading this Amber; we miss you so much and hope Melbourne knows how lucky they are to have you x)

One of our favourite parts of owning a business is having control over the process of seeking out suppliers… over the course of a few months before opening we liaised with several to select the ones whose principals aligned most closely with our own (the selection process involved a fair amount of tasting incredible food and drink, hence it being one of our peaks!) We are incredibly proud of and grateful for our suppliers, particularly the importers, where we rely on their outstanding knowledge and understanding of the food and drink cultures of foreign countries to provide us with top quality produce.

The menu for this event will be focusing on Italy of course, to marry up with the wines, and we’re delighted to highlight some of the amazing Italian meat and cheeses we have available to us through these remarkable suppliers, beautiful wines hand selected by Wayward, as well as some of our favourite staple dishes from the country as a one off special…

Menu

Polenta chips, pecorino

BBQ’d tomato, peach, buffalo mozzarella

Salta family ragu, rigatoni

Molinari smoked salami, 24 month parmesan

Ticket price is £58pp, which includes food and wine. On the evening we will also be offering optional extras of Tiramisu for our sweet tooth guests and an Italian cheese and vermouth course.

As always please get in touch with any enquiries, unfortunately due to service logistics we will be unable to cater to certain dietary requirements for this event, however feel free to contact us to find out more.

A little reminder that we are still offering our fondue and Bloody Mary sunday’s and they will continue into the colder months. Priced at £20pp this includes fondue and all the trimmings. Bloody Mary’s made to your liking are priced at £10.
