HEBTROCO Knife Launch Event / 26th April

On Wednesday 26th April we will be hosting an evening of sharp knives, blunt tunes and tasty bites.

In HEBTROCO’s words:

Our top three places to eat in Hebden Bridge are Coin (small plates restaurant & posh booze), Crown Street Fisheries (fish & chips), Leila’s Kitchen (veggie & vegan cafe/restaurant).

So that’s why we’ve picked Coin from this list to partner up with to launch our new range of kitchen knives and have a party.

Like the inimitable cartoon hero Rasta Mouse, Coin have turned a bad thing good. They’ve converted a bank (boo) into the best place in town for a hot date (hurray). It’s a lovely space with switched on staff, tasty and ever changing small plates, food and craft beer, natural wines and luscious cocktails. They’ve been open more than a year and it’s usually advisable to book. This is a big win in a town of ever rising and falling little spots.

They’ve been bothering us for a while to bring the PA down and play some records in their place. At first we couldn’t be arsed. We used to do pop ups with people trying trousers on in the toilets. Yuck! Chaos! We usually ended up drunk with a pile of screwed up clothes. Knives on the other hand, with civilised drinks, what could go wrong?

When we first got our Sheffield Chef Knife we took one to Alex, the chef at Coin. He said, “It’s a good knife that. Well balanced.” After this blistering praise organising a launch party was the obvious next step.

What's happening on the night?

Gaz from Community Cutlery in Ilkley will give a knife sharpening demo & be sharpening your blades*

There will be 6” Sheffield Chef Knives, Bread Knives and an all new pocket knife to look at.

We’ll have a size set of Heavy Flannel Shirts to try on.

Ed will be playing records on the PA.

Tapas on the bar as well as small plates. Eat standing as you drink and browse or book a table. Seated dining requires advanced booking through Coin.

We’ll be flashing some discount codes for people who turn up.

*Limited availability for sharpening on the night, so maybe just choose your favourite chef knife and bring that along for some TLC. If you would like more knives sharpening you can drop them off with Gaz who will take them back to his workshop for sharpening, available for collection in Ilkley or return by post the following week.
